Talia Davis named America East Rookie of the Week

Davis averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week for the Wildcats
DURHAM, N.H. -- Freshman forward Talia Davis (Dedham, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was named America East Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Davis averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week for the Wildcats, including a career and game-high 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting and a career-high seven rebounds in the home loss to Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon in her second career start.
"I am very proud of Talia, she works extremely hard and strives to get better ever day," said UNH head coach Kelsey Hogan. "Her dedication to individual and team improvement has been impressive especially from a freshman. Her confidence is consistently building and I am excited to see what the rest of the year holds for her."
She has played in all 15 games for the Wildcats this season, averaging 5.0 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game in her rookie season in Durham.
The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, January 19 against Hartford in America East play. Game time from Lundholm Gymnasium is 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
