AMESBURY, Mass. – Junior Nicky Harnett (Plymouth, Minn.) and freshman Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) of the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team were named the Goaltender of the Week and Pro Ambitions co-Rookie of the Week, respectively, by Hockey East on Monday.
The duo led UNH to a weekend sweep of Providence College that vaulted the Wildcats past the Friars into a tie for fifth in the conference standings; the 'Cats entered the weekend in a tie for ninth.

Harnett went 2-0-0 and stopped 59 of 60 shots for a 0.50 GAA and .983 save percentage, and she backboned the Wildcats to a perfect 5-for-5 on the penalty kill. She recorded her shutout of the season and third career with a 22-save effort in UNH's 1-0 win last Friday (Jan. 7). Harnett made eight saves in the first period, followed by five in the second and nine in the third.
She followed that with a career-high 37 saves the next day in a 3-1 victory. Harnett stopped 15 saves in the scoreless first period and made 13 saves in the scoreless final frame.
Harnett had not played/started back-to-back games since a stretch of seven straight starts spanning Jan. 11 to Feb. 1, 2020.
This is Harnett's first career Goaltender of the Week accolade.

Juodikis recorded two points in the two-game series against Providence with a goal and an assist. Her other stats included five shots, two blocked shots and an even plus/minus rating.
Juodikis recorded her fourth multiple-point game of the season with a goal and an assist in UNH's 3-1 win Saturday (Jan. 8). She broke the scoreless tie at 11:41 of the second period and assisted on the game-winning goal that gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead 1 minute, 52 seconds later. Juodikis' goal ignited a three-goal surge that spanned 4 minutes, 42 seconds and quickly transformed a scoreless game into a 3-0 advantage.
This is the third Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week award for Juodikis, who was previously honored the consecutive weeks of Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. She was also the league's Rookie of the Month for September/October.
New Hampshire plays a home-and-home series against third-ranked Northeastern University on Jan. 14-15. The teams face off at NU's Matthews Arena on Friday (6 p.m.) and then at UNH's Whittemore Center on Saturday (3 p.m.).
