Three Wildcats earn America East All-Conference accolades

Torres named to AE All-Conference Second Team and Gogolin named to Third Team
BOSTON — Senior guard Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team highlighting five awards for the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, which were announced by the conference office on Friday.
Torres was also named to the America East All-Defensive Team for the second consecutive season for the Wildcats.
She led the team with 12.2 points per game, which ranked seventh among America East players and her 2.6 assists ranked eighth in the AEC. Torres also ranked second among conference players with 2.2 steals and 36.8 minutes per game. In league play, Torres ranked seven among America East players with 12.0 points per game and her 2.1 steals per contest were fourth among conference players. Torres was named America East Player of the Week on December 7. Torres reached double figures in points in 14 of 19 games for the Wildcats and notched two steals in 14 contests.
Junior forward Ivy Gogolin (Hopkinton, Mass.) was named to the America East All-Conference Third Team and was also honored on the America East All-Academic Team. Gogolin ranked eighth in the conference in scoring at 11.6 points per outing, while her 5.7 rebounds per game ranked 14th in the conference. In league play, Gogolin's 12.2 points per game were sixth best in the AEC, while her 6.2 rebounds per game were the ninth best total. Gogolin also posted 10 or more points in a game in 14 of 19 games for the Wildcats. The business administration major boasts a 3.95 GPA for the Wildcats.
Freshman guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) took home America East All-Rookie Team honors in her first season in Durham. Groman averaged 6.7 points per game for the Wildcats, which ranked fifth on the team in 32.7 minutes of action in her rookie season, starting 18 of 19 games for UNH. Her 32.7 minutes per game were most of any America East Rookie. Groman was named America East Rookie of the Week in the final week of the regular season on February 15.
The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, February 28 as the No. 5 seed in the upcoming 2021 Hercules Tires America East Women's Basketball Playoffs at No. 4 UAlbany. Game time is 5 p.m. from SEFCU Arena on ESPN+.
