BOSTON – Jakov Novak scored two goals for the Huskies as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Northeastern, 4-1, on Saturday evening at Matthews Arena.
The Wildcats fall to 3-6-0 (1-4-0 Hockey East), while the Huskies improve to 7-3-0 (4-2-0 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

At 11:42 of the first period, Aidan McDonough fired a one timer from the right faceoff circle to the lower glove side of the net for a power play goal to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Northeastern increased the lead to 2-0 when Novak sent a backhander from the slot to the glove side after receiving a pass from behind the net by Jack Hughes at 4:22 of the second period.
Novak then scored his second goal of the contest at 14:45 of the second period with a one-timer from in front of the net to the stick side to make it a 3-0 score.
The Wildcats cut the lead to 3-1 at 7:56 of the third period when freshman forward Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) knocked in a rebound for his second goal of the season. Senior forward Eric MacAdams (Salem, Mass.) and freshman defenseman Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) each posted an assist on the goal.
At 10:18, Jordan Harris found the back of the net to increase the lead to 4-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Senior goalie Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) posted 18 saves, while Devon Levi tallied 34 to earn the win and improve to 7-3-0 on the season.
UNH outshot Northeastern by a 35-22 margin.
The Wildcats went 0-7 on the power play and the Huskies went 1-4.
