DURHAM, N.H. -- Senior captain Francesca Picicci (North Massapequa, N.Y.) of the UNH women's soccer team and freshman defensive back Noah Palm (Lancaster, Pa.) of the UNH football team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday, October. 4.
The UNH women's soccer team will return to action Sunday, Oct. 10 against UMBC. Game time is 12 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
Â
Palm made his first career start at Pittsburgh (Sept. 25) and led the Wildcats in tackles with 15. This past Saturday, he started again vs. No. 3 James Madison at Wildcat Stadium, recorded eight tackles (including one tackle for loss) and had an electrifying 93-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the second quarter that lifted the 'Cats within 10-7. Palm was also named CAA Rookie of the Week on Oct. 4, as announced by the conference office.
The UNH football team will resume play Oct. 16 (1 p.m.) at Wildcat Stadium against Dartmouth College for Family Weekend.
Â
Picicci recorded her first career multiple-goal game and her five points also marked a personal best in UNH's 3-0 win at Stony Brook University (Oct. 3). That victory ended the Seawolves 11-game home winning streak and marked the Wildcats' first road win in the series since 2005.
Picicci scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute and struck again in the 49th minute, then set up UNH's third goal of the game – scored by freshman Meghan Guarente just 71 seconds later. Picicci scored the two goals on two shots.
