Wildcats sweep Binghamton for sixth straight win

VESTAL, N.Y. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team earned a 3-0 victory in America East play against Binghamton on Friday night at West Gym. The set scores were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-21.
The Wildcats win their sixth straight match and improve to 15-9 overall (6-3 AE), while the Bearcats drop to 6-14 overall (2-6 AE).
Sophomore Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) and senior middle blocker Abby Sullivan (Methuen, Mass.) each contributed a team-high eight kills apiece, hitting at a .400 and .316 clip, respectively. Kaufmann also added a team-best four blocks in the win.Â
Freshman right side Marisa Armer (Bradenton, Fla.) added seven kills, while Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) added six kills.Â
Sophomore libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) added a match-high 16 digs, while senior outside hitter Kate Bilyeu (Omaha, Neb.) chipped in with five kills and nine digs. Â
Junior setter Wren Macaulay (Lake Orion, Mich.) amassed 27 assists quarterbacking the Wildcats offense in the victory.
The 'Cats totaled 14 kills and a .261 hitting percentage in the opening frame and then followed that up with 15 kills in the second (.268) and 10 kills and a .348 clip in the third stanza.
Stefana Stan and Victoria Erwat notched a match-high 10 kills apiece for Binghamton in the losing effort.Â
UNH returns to action on Sunday, October 31 at UAlbany. Match time is 3 p.m. from University Gym on AmericaEast.tv.Â
