Boutilier Stops 31 Shots in 5-0 Loss at Boston University

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior goaltender and captain Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) made 31 saves but the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team was defeated 5-0 by Boston University at Walter Brown Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Boutilier stopped 15 shots in the first period, then eight each of the next two. BU goalie Callie Shanahan made 16 saves for the shutout.
Mackenna Parker and Julia Nearis both recorded a goal and two assists.
UNH is now 0-2-0 both overall and in Hockey East, while BU improved to 2-0-0, 2-0-0.

FIRST PERIOD
- BU recorded a 16-5 shot advantage in the opening 20 minutes and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission on Emma Withrich's goal at 17:38.
SECOND PERIOD
- Kylie Roberts and Julia Shaunessy scored goals 62 seconds apart – at 6:38 and 7:40, respectively – to quickly transform a one-goal lead into a 3-0 advantage.
- Parker netted an unassisted goal at 14:25 to push the margin to 4-0.
THIRD PERIOD
- Nearis capped the scoring at 6:07 of the final frame.

- BU finished with 36-16 shot advantage.
- UNH had the 33-22 edge in the faceoff circle.
- Sophomore Brianna Brooks (Whitby, Ontario) was nearly perfect by winning 12 of 13 draws (92.3 percent) in the faceoff circle.
