Wildcats Defeated by #13 Northeastern

UNH to play home-and-home series with UConn.
BOSTON – Connor Murphy recorded 37 saves for the Huskies as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 13 Northeastern, 7-0. The Wildcats are now 3-5-1 (3-5-1 Hockey East), while the Huskies improve to 6-3-2 (6-3-2 Hockey East).
Zach Solow posted two goals and two assists for four points for Northeastern.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At 10:05, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal by Solow as he sent a backhander to the lower glove side of the net from the slot.
- The Wildcats outshot the Huskies, 11-7, while UNH went 0-1 on the power play.
- Northeastern increased its lead to 2-0 at 14:26 of the second period with a power play goal by Jordan Harris as he fired a one-timer to the lower glove side.
- The Huskies then netted their second straight power play goal when Grant Jozefek tipped the puck to the back of the net off a shot by Sam Colangelo with 26 seconds remaining in the second period.
- UNH outshot Northeastern by a 13-10 margin in the second period, while the Wildcats went 0-3 on the man-advantage and the Huskies went 2-3.
- At 6:27 of the third period, Gunnarwolfe Fontaine scored on a rebound off a shot by Jayden Struble to make it a 4-0 contest.
- Just 1:01 later, Solow posted his second goal of the game with a wrist shot from faceoff circle to increase the lead to 5-0.
- At 11:32, Ty Jackson knocked in a loose puck for the 6-0 advantage.
- Then 15 seconds later, Struble scored as he sent a wrister to the upper glove side of the net for the 7-0 score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior goalie Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) made 15 saves and allowed five goals, while junior Ty Taylor (Richmond, British Columbia) posted seven saves and allowed two goals. Murphy recorded 37 saves to earn the win.
- New Hampshire outshot Northeastern, 37-29.
- The Wildcats went 0-6 on the power play and the Huskies went 2-5.
