Game Featured 17 Lead Changes Before Bearcats Salvage Split
In a game that featured 17 lead changes and five ties, UNH (3-8, 3-5 America East) was edged by Binghamton (3-7, 3-5 AE), which salvaged a split of the two-game series. Kaylee Wasco scored a career-high 20 points (8-for-16 FG, 4-for-7 FT) and grabbed six rebounds for the Bearcats.
The Wildcats seized their final lead, 56-55, with 56 seconds remaining when Gogolin dropped in a runner off a feed from Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H. / six points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals).
Denai Bowman (eight points) buried two free throws with 15 seconds left to put BU in front, 57-56. Following a UNH timeout with 5.1 seconds left, Kane's right baseline jumper was blocked by Clare Trager (10 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks), who hit one foul shot to cap the scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter:
- A first quarter featuring six lead changes ended with the Wildcats ahead 16-15.
- Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-les-Bains, France), Gogolin and Torres each scored four points.
- Torres went 2-for-2 from the floor, grabbed two rebounds and notched a steal.
- UNH went 6 of 8 from the free-throw line (75 percent) and 5-for-12 (41.7 percent) from the field.
- Cassidy Roberts led BU with six points, two assists and one steal.
Second Quarter:
- A hot-shooting stretch for Binghamton (7-for-13, 53.8 percent) allowed the Bearcats to take a 31-28 lead to the locker room.
- Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.) provided a spark with five points, three rebounds and one steal in the quarter.
- Delaruelle led UNH with six points, while Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) added five.
- UNH went 5 of 22 (22.7 percent) in the second quarter and trailed by as many as five points (31-26 / 2:24), the largest deficit of the game.
- Kaylee Wasco scored 10 points in the first half on 4-for-8 shooting to lead all scorers.
- Binghamton won the quarter, 16-12.
Third Quarter:
- UNH found its offensive stroke by shooting 5-for-11 (45.5 percent) from the floor and 8 of 9 from the FT line to edge BU, 18-16.
- Gogolin went 3-for-3 in the period and Kane went 4-for-5 from the FT line; the duo scored six points apiece in the frame.
- Binghamton carried a 47-46 lead into the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter:
- The 'Cats capped a 6-0 run when Delaruelle drove and delivered a wraparound pass to Gogolin for a layup that upped UNH's lead to 52-49 with 4:55 remaining.
- After Wasco's turnaround from the right block drew Binghamton within one, Kane slashed down the left side of the lane to make it 54-51 with 3:44 left.
- Wasco responded with back-to-back baskets –a left-side finish to close the margin to one at the 2:24 mark, and then by knifing her way through the middle to put BU ahead, 55-54, with 1:10 on the clock.
Wildcat Notebook
- Binghamton's largest lead was five points; UNH never led by more than three.
- The first half featured nine lead changes.
- In the second half, Gogolin went 6-for-9 and scored 12 of the Wildcats' 28 points.
- Delaruelle finished with eight points, eight rebounds and two assists.
- The freshman trio of Groman (seven points), Stuart (five points) and Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine / four points) combined for 16 points and six rebounds.
- UNH went 15-for-19 from the foul line; Binghamton went 11-for-19.
- The Wildcats outscored the Bearcats, 13-6, in points off turnovers and 38-30 in points in the paint.
