Comeback Falls Short, Next Up Hartford at Home Thursday Night
BALTIMORE, Md. – Sophomore Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) scored 15 points to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team and the Wildcats made a second half charge, but they came up short against UMBC, 65-59, on Saturday afternoon in the UMBC Event Center.
Sophomore Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) and junior Josh Hopkins (Greensboro, N.C.) each added a dozen points for the Wildcats. Senior Chris Lester (Barrington, Ill.) had eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.

UNH is 11-13 overall and 4-7 in America East. The Wildcats play Hartford on Thursday at home at 7 p.m. in their Spread Respect game.
UMBC won its third straight game and is 5-2 in its last seven games. The Retrievers are 12-14 overall and 5-6 in the league.
K.J. Jackson scored 19 points to lead UMBC.

FIRST HALF
- The 'Cats led 8-3 early and a three-pointer by Hopkins put them up 15-12 with 12:27 left.
- UMBC opened a 26-17 edge with 7:10 to go.
- A Lester basket inside, a Maultsby three-pointer and then drive to the hoop cut the lead to 26-24 with 4:20 to play.
- The Retrievers ran off 11 straight points to close out the half and led 37-24 at the break.
- Maultsby's seven points led UNH at the half. Hopkins had five points in the half.

SECOND HALF
- UMBC led 46-37 with 13:42 left in the second half.
