"Like many across our nation, our athletics department has suffered incredible financial fallout due to COVID," Scarano said. "To date, we've incurred a $6-million annual loss in revenue comprised of NCAA distributions, sponsorships, ticket revenue, donations and much more."
The Support the Roar campaign, the top priority of UNH Athletics Development, begins as UNH prepares to return to competition with no spectators permitted at home events. Fans and supporters can participate in a variety of ways to greatly benefit student-athletes.
The new 'Cats Cutout option ($50) enables fans to virtually place themselves in the seats at the Whittemore Center in cardboard-cutout form for UNH men's and women's hockey games during the 2020-21 season. The 'Cats Cutout will assist UNH student-athletes economically and help create home-ice advantage for the Wildcats.
Donations can be made to any area of athletics, whether to a specific team or a general athletics initiative. Any and all gifts will go to immediate use and allow UNH Athletics to preserve its standard of excellence during difficult fiscal times.
"Support the Roar is your chance to exhibit your passion for UNH Athletics and to underwrite your favorite program," Scarano added. "We need your help now more than ever."
