Pekte Records Match-High Nine Kills, Sullivan Tallies Personal-Best Nine Blocks
DURHAM, N.H. – Hannah Petke (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) recorded a match-high nine kills and Abby Sullivan (Methuen, Mass.) had a personal-best nine blocks to power the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to Tuesday night's 3-0 victory against Bryant University at Lundholm Gym.
It was the home opener for the Wildcats, who improved to 3-1 overall. Bryant is 0-4.
Petke tallied nine kills on a .471 hitting percentage and also had five blocks, all assisted, for a total of 11.5 points. Sullivan finished with one solo block and eight assisted blocks, as well as seven kills on a .545 hitting percentage, for a match-high 12.0 points.

THE OTHER TOP 'CATS
- Emma Patlovich (Lake Forest, Ill.), who was named America East Setter of the Week earlier in the day, led the all players in assists with 15. She also had three service aces.
- Kennedi Smith (The Woodlands, Texas) tallied 8.5 points on six kills, one assisted block and two service aces. She also had a match-high eight digs.
SET 1
- New Hampshire mostly dominated the first set, with just two lead changes, eventually winning 25-19.
- With the score tied 5-5, the 'Cats reeled of four consecutive points on a kill by Hannah Crist (Cicero, Ind.), block tandem by Sullivan and Kate Bilyeu (Omaha, Neb.), kill by Erin Hedrick (Montvale, N.J.) and combined block by Sullivan and Hedrick.
- Trailing 16-9, the Bulldogs went on a 4-0 run to trim the deficit to 16-13.
- UNH responded with kills by Petke and Smith and the visitors never got closer than four points the rest of the way.
- Sullivan and Smith had equally impressive starts to the match with four points each.
SET 2
- New Hampshire rolled out to a 9-0 run at the start of the second set and never looked back.
- Petke recorded four kills and two blocks in the second set, while Sullivan tallied three kills and four blocks.
SET 3
- Leading 8-7, the 'Cats won five consecutive points to build a six-point advantage. Bryant never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Smith is on the verge of becoming the 17th UNH player to reach 1,000 career points. She has 998.5.
- Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.). named the America East Defensive Specialist of the Week earlier on Tuesday, is No. 7 on the program's all-time digs leaderboard with 1,130. Ahead of her on the list is Jillian Ross at 1,207.
- New Hampshire recorded a .244 hitting percentage while holding Bryant to -.054 (24 kills, 29 errors).
