Delaruelle Named Rookie of the Week

The rookie from France earns UNH’s first weekly award of the season.
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire freshman guard Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-les-Bains, France) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. Delaruelle has been a key addition to the UNH women's basketball team's starting lineup in her first collegiate season, making plays both offensively and defensively.
In UNH's one game this past week against North Dakota State, Delaruelle posted her first double-digit scoring effort of her career scoring 10 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing five assists. Her five assists were a team-high and came on just two turnovers.
On the season Delaruelle averages a team-high 4.6 assists per game, and has grabbed a team-high 13 steals, along with 4.6 rebounds and 7.1 points per game. Her assist/turnover ratio sits at 1.8, currently third-best in the America East conference.
This is UNH's first weekly award of the season and the first of Delaruelle's career. All five of UNH's weekly awards in the 2018-19 season were Rookie of the Week honors.
Delaruelle and the Wildcats kicked off December hosting NDSU on Sunday, and continue the first week of December with a road matchup at UMass on Thursday, December 5 at 7 P.M.
