DURHAM, N.H. -- Kyle Reisert (Plymouth, N.H.) and Cameron Brusko (Bethlehem, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire were named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Football Team for District 1 on Thursday.
Reisert and Brusko advance to the national ballot and the Academic All-America teams will be announced in early December.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom across four divisions.
Reisert, a senior defensive end with a 3.97 cumulative GPA as a mechanical engineering major, was named to both the Academic All-District and All-America teams in 2017. He was also voted the CAA Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year in '17.
Reisert missed seven consecutive games dating back to last season before returning to action for one play (a PAT kick) at Elon on Sept. 29. Reisert was reinserted into the at defensive end rotation Oct. 6 against Holy Cross and made an impact with four tackles, two of which were behind the line of scrimmage (and one of which was a sack).
One week later vs. Stony Brook, Reisert made three stops. He scored on a 55-yard fumble return for his first career touchdown Oct. 20 against Delaware; he also had two tackles, including a sack, vs. the Blue Hens.
Reisert made his first start of the season Nov. 3 against James Madison. He finished with three tackles and recovered a fumble at 5:53 of the fourth quarter.
In seven games, Reisert has 14 total tackles (10-4-14) with three tackles for loss, including two sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
Brusko is a junior linebacker with a 3.98 cumulative GPA while pursuing degrees in justice studies and political science. He and Reisert were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Athletic Honor Society last spring.
In seven games this season, Brusko has one tackle, an assisted stop at Colorado.
New Hampshire ends the 2018 regular season Nov. 17 (12 p.m.) at the University of Rhode Island.
