Olhava Records 12 Kills & Four Blocks in 3-0 Win vs. Bryant

DURHAM, N.H. – Gabri Olhava (Mount Prospect, Ill.) recorded 12 kills and four blocks to lead the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to Tuesday night's 3-0 victory against Bryant University at Lundholm Gym. The set scores were 25-21, 25-23, 25-21.
Olhava, who was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Michigan Invitational Tournament this past weekend, had seven kills and a .875 hitting percentage in the first set; she finished with a .391 hitting percentage.
Kennedi Smith (The Woodlands, Texas) finished with a game-high 14 kills and .273 hitting percentage.
UNH improved to 6-3 lifetime against Bryant and 2-6 overall this season. The Bulldogs are also 2-6 in '17.
There were a total of 32 tie scores and 12 lead changes in three tightly-contested sets.

SET 1
- UNH rode the coattails of Olhava and Smith, who had five kills and a .308 hitting percentage in the first set.
- The Wildcats' 21 digs and two blocks held Bryant to a .051 hitting percentage.
- UNH closed the set on an 8-0 run. Olhava tallied three kills during the spurt, included set point, and the 'Cats benefitted from five Bryant attack errors.
SET 2
- There were 16 ties and seven lead changes – and neither team led by more than three points – in the second set.
- With the score tied at 23, consecutive kills by Olhava and Smith closed out the set and gave New Hampshire a 2-0 lead in the match.
SET 3
- UNH trailed 10-7 before reeling off five consecutive points to take a 12-10 lead.
- With the score tied at 14, the Wildcats went on a 4-0 run to build an 18-14 advantage.
- Bryant chipped away and tied the score at 21.
- Olhava and Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) produced the next four points to end the set and the match. The duo combined for a block to give UNH a 22-21 lead, then a kill by Olhava extended the margin to two points and Tanski recorded back-to-back service aces.
'CAT NIPS
- Mali Jereczek (Green Bay, Wis.) matched her career high of 17 assists.
- Tanski's 14 digs marked a season high.
- Since the start of the 2013 season, UNH has a 42-12 home record.
