SPREAD RESPECT (Oct. 27)

- The goal of Spread Respect is to create an inclusive, respectful arena for all student-athletes, coaches and fans regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race or religion.
SALUTING THE SENIORS (Oct. 29)
- New Hampshire will honor the two members of its senior class – captain Courtney Bowman (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and Katie Rebrovich (Burleson, Texas) – prior to Sunday's match vs. UAlbany.
- Sunday's match will be broadcast online on ESPN3.
SMITH WINS SECOND PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD
- Sophomore outside hitter Kennedi Smith (The Woodlands, Texas) was honored as America East Player of the Week on Tuesday. Smith also received this accolade two weeks ago (Oct. 10).
- Smith recorded a match-high 12 kills on a .611 hitting percentage to lead UNH to a straight-set win against UMass Lowell in the Wildcats' only match last week. Her other stats included nine digs, two blocks and one service ace.
- Smith helped set the tone in the first set with five kills and no errors for a .556 hitting percentage, and her five digs helped force UMass Lowell to a negative hitting percentage.
- In the second set, Smith recorded four kills on five swings for a .800 hitting percentage.
UNH vs. UALBANY
- UNH has a 21-20 lifetime record against UAlbany following last month's come-from-behind five-set road win.
- The set scores were 14-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-18, 15-9. • Recap • Box
- New Hampshire won both of last year's matchups in Lundholm Gym in straight sets.
- The Wildcats captured the 2016 America East regular-season title with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-12 win the last weekend of the regular season. • Recap • Box

- UAlbany recorded a road win vs. the 'Cats in both 2014 and 2015.
WHAT JUST HAPPENED
- New Hampshire lost the first two sets and lost 3-1 to Binghamton University at Lundholm Gym on Friday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-17.
- Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 15 digs. She also had a .276 hitting percentage.
- Kennedi Smith recorded a team-high 12 kills and Hannah Petke matched Tanski's 11 kills.
- Gabri Olhava tallied six blocks and had seven kills with a .278 hitting percentage.
A LOOK BACK AT LAST WEEK
- New Hampshire rolled to a 3-0 home win against UMass Lowell in the Wildcats' only match last week (Friday, Oct. 20). The set scores were 25-14, 25-19, 25-15. • Recap • Box
- UNH recorded a season-high .398 hitting percentage, which included .619 in Set 3, and stymied the UMass Lowell offense to a .081 hitting percentage – the second lowest by a Wildcat opponent this season.
- New Hampshire trailed just twice the entire match: 5-4 in the first set and 1-0 in the second set.
- This was the fourth consecutive match UNH recorded 10 service aces.
- The Wildcats committed just eight attack errors to mark the first time this year UNH recorded single digits in that stat.
'CAT NIPS
- Kennedi Smith led a balanced UNH attack vs. UMass Lowell with a match-high 12 kills on a .611 hitting percentage.
- Sophomore opposite hitter Hannah Petke (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) recorded 11 kills and a .476 hitting percentage.
- Junior middle blocker Gabri Olhava (Mount Prospect, Ill.) finished with 10 kills on a .400 percentage.
THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
- UNH enters Friday's match with a 10-12 overall record that includes 7-2 at home and 5-3 in America East (3-2 in conference home matches).
- New Hampshire has a 7-3 record the past 10 matches.
- Prior to Friday night's loss, the Wildcats had won in straight sets the previous two matches against Hartford and UMass Lowell.
- UNH is averaging 11.7 kills per set on a .181 attack percentage while the opposition is at 12.1 kills/set at a .203 clip.

HOME SWEET HOME
- New Hampshire is 7-2 at Lundholm Gym this season; the Wildcats' 13-match home win streak ended Oct. 13 with a 3-2 loss to UMBC.
- UNH has won five of its home matches in straight sets – vs. Bryant, Siena, Dartmouth, Hartford and UMass Lowell; three other matches went five sets with victories against Rhode Island and Stony Brook.
- The aforementioned loss to UMBC also ended the Wildcats' streak of 11 consecutive home wins vs. America East foes.
INSIDE THE HOMESTAND
- UNH is 3-2 on its current season-long six-match homestand that ends today vs. UAlbany.
- Kennedi Smith is averaging 3.15 kills per set with a .253 hitting percentage.
- Gabri Olhava is at 2.50 kills/set with a .370 percentage during the homestand.
- Hannah Petke is averaging 2.55 kills/set at a .239 clip.
- Junior setter Mali Jereczek (Green Bay, Wis.) is averaging 5.55 assists per set and has 16 service aces, as well as 1.90 digs per set, in the five matches.
PUT ME IN, COACH
- Junior middle blocker and captain Gabri Olhava is the only Wildcat who has played all 85 sets in 22 matches.
- Sophomore defensive specialist Logan Welti has seen action in 84 of 85 sets.
FILLING THE STAT SHEET
- Sophomore outside hitter Kennedi Smith has eight double-doubles this season; the rest of the Wildcats have combined for nine double-doubles.
- Smith is UNH's leader in kills (253) and kills per set (3.33), as well as points (290) and points per set (3.82). She is also third in both digs (2.46/set) and blocks (27), and is fourth in service aces (20).
- Smith has led the team (or tied for the team lead) in kills 15 of 22 matches, including eight consecutive matches spanning Aug. 26 – Sept. 12.
- In the week of Sept. 12-16, Smith tallied 15 kills and a career-high 17 digs at Northeastern (Sept. 12), then surpassed that number with 18 digs and 11 kills vs. URI (Sept. 16); she recorded 17 kills and 13 digs against Dartmouth College (Sept. 16). Smith followed that with a career-high 21 kills and 10 digs at UMass Lowell (Sept. 22).
BLOCK PARTY
- Gabri Olhava has a team-best 61 blocks (17 solo, 44 assisted) following Friday night's six blocks vs. Binghamton.
- She has led the team (or tied for the team lead) in blocks 13 times this season.
- Olhava recorded a career high of 10 blocks at Fairfield on Sept. 9; the previous time a Wildcat reached double digits in blocks was Oct. 19, 2014 (Demi Muses, 11, at Hartford); Cassidy Croci also had 11 blocks Aug. 30, 2014.
- In other stats, Olhava is the leader in service aces (29), and ranks second in kills (214) and kills/set (2.52) as well as points (282) and points/set (3.32).
SMOKING ACES
- New Hampshire recorded 10 service aces four consecutive matches against Stony Brook, UMBC, Hartford and UMass Lowell (Oct. 6-20).
- The streak ended with five aces vs. Binghamton (Oct. 27).
- In comparison, the Wildcats tallied double digits in aces twice the first 17 matches of the season.
- Gabri Olhava and Mali Jereczek are tied for the team lead with 29 aces.
- Jereczek been on a tear at the service line during the homestand with 16 aces. She served six aces against UMBC to mark the highest total by a 'Cat since September 2007 (Alyse Lahti vs. Holy Cross).
- Olhava recorded five aces at Northeastern (Sept. 12); that total is tied for the second most by a Wildcat this season (established by Kennedi Smith at St. John's and matched by Hannah Petke at UAlbany).
DIG THIS
- Logan Welti has a team-high 356 digs and is averaging 4.24 per set.
- She has led UNH in digs in 15 of 22 matches, including a career-high 34 vs. UMBC on Oct. 13. It marked the highest total by a UNH Wildcat since November 2013 (Madison Lightfoot, 39 vs. Binghamton
- Welti has tallied 20+ digs six times and she has three other matches with 19 digs.
GIVING ASSISTANCE
- Freshman setter Emma Patlovich (Lake Bluff, Ill.) is UNH's leader in assists, with 458, and assists/set (6.36).
- She has been UNH's top 'Cat in assists in 15 of 22 matches with 30-plus assists five times, including a career high 36 against Wisconsin-Green Bay.
- Patlovich was a DNP for both matches on the Empire State road trip (Sept. 29 & Oct. 1).
- She has two double-doubles with a 24-assist, 12-dig effort vs. Butler (at Michigan) and a 35-assist, 10-dig performance at UMass Lowell.
- Patlovich's highlights include 35 assists, three kills, two service aces and six digs at Northeastern; she recorded a personal-best four aces at Fairfield and matched that vs. Hartford.
- Mali Jereczek stepped into the starting role the Sept. 29-Oct. 1 weekend. She did so very admirably at UAlbany with a career-high 49 assists that quarterbacked the 'Cats to their third-highest hitting percentage of the season (.259). She also tallied a personal-best 15 digs to record her second career double-double.
- Jereczek followed that with a career-high six kills (and .750 hitting percentage) at Binghamton. She also tallied three service aces and three blocks, as well as 29 assists.
- In 72 sets, Jereczek has amassed 361 assists for an average of 5.01 per set.
- Jereczek has led the 'Cats in assists five of the past seven matches and in service aces five of the last six matches.
CONFERENCE CALL
- UNH leads America East in service aces with 148 and in service aces per set at 1.74.
- Kennedi Smith is second in points per set (3.82) as well as kills (253) and kills/set (3.33); she is third in points (290).
- Gabri Olhava is third in hitting percentage (.279), fourth in points (282), fifth in service aces/set (0.34), seventh in points/set (3.32) and ninth in kills/set (2.52).
- Logan Welti is second in digs (356) and fifth in digs/set (4.24).
- Emma Patlovich is sixth in assists/set (6.36) and seventh in service aces per set (0.33).

- UNH has won the first set 11 times in 22 matches; the Wildcats have won the second set 12 times.
- The opposition has won Set 3 12 times.
- UNH is 4-9 in Set 4, and the Wildcats are 4-2 in the decisive fifth set.

HIRSCHINGER'S HISTORY
- This is the 22nd year as UNH head coach for Jill Hirschinger. She recorded her 750th career victory when the Wildcats prevailed 3-1 at UMBC last October.
- Of her 765 career wins, 356 have been at UNH's helm.
- Hirschinger's 350th win at UNH was a five-set victory against Rhode Island at the Holly Young Invitational on Sept. 16.
- Hirschinger has been named America East Coach of the Year six times.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
- UAlbany (Albany, N.Y.) enters Sunday's matchup with a 7-13 overall record that includes 7-1 in America East and 4-4 on the road; the Great Danes are 4-0 in conference road matches.
- Albany won in straight sets at UMass Lowell on Friday to extend its win streak to four matches.
- Albany is averaging 11.3 kills/set with a .148 hitting percentage, while the opposition is at 13.4 kills/set with a .234 hitting percentage.
- Akuabata Okenwa (226), Chloe Evering (160), and Tatlana Tiangco (145) have eclipsed 100 kills this season. Okenwa is averaging a team high 3.32 kills/set but Danielle Tedesco has the highest hitting percentage of .255.
- Nicole Otero has a team-high 324 digs and average digs per set of 4.70.
- Kelly Cameron has led the setting duties with 512 assists (8.53/set).
- Tedesco leads the Great Danes in blocks (50) and is followed by Okenwa (44) and Taylor Robinson (43).
