HOW IT HAPPENED
•Notre Dame struck first on Andrew Oglevie's 12th goal of the season at 4:05 of the first period. Jake Evans stole a clearing attempt at the left point and dished a pass to Oglevie, who snuck behind the defense to an opening on the doorstep for a 1-0 lead.
•UNH netted the equalizer at 10:33 of the first when Tyler Kelleher stole a crossing pass at the Wildcat line and led a 2-on-1 with Jason Salvaggio, who settled down a bouncing puck and beat Cal Peterson five-hole for his 12th goal of the season. Kelleher notched his nation-leading 27th assist of the season.
•The Wildcats claimed a 2-1 lead at 4:51 of the second, courtesy of a power play goal from Patrick Grasso. Michael McNicholas sent the puck in from the right point, Salvaggio kept it alive in front of the cage and Grasso powered it home for his 15th goal, the most by a freshman in the NCAA this season.
•Moments after a power play concluded, Notre Dame capitalized on a tired UNH unit to net the tying goal when Jack Jenkins slid a pass through the crease to a crashing Joe Wegwerth, who potted his sixth goal at 9:24 of the third.
•The Fighting Irish outshot the Wildcats, 3-0, in overtime, but Tirone made a tremendous glove save on an Anders Bjork slap shot in the closing seconds to preserve the deadlock.
