Nazarian tallies goal, assist to help Wildcats win weekend series
BOSTON-- Ara Nazarian (Bedford, Mass.) matched a career high with two points on a goal and an assist to help the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team skate to a 2-2 tie with Northeastern University at 2017 Frozen Fenway at Fenway Park.
UNH (11-8-3, 6-2-2), which skated past Northeastern (7-10-5, 1-8-3) on Thursday night, earned three points over the weekend to win the season series with the defending Hockey East Association champions.
 
Danny Tirone (Trumbull, Conn.) made 27 saves, while NU's Ryan Ruck turned aside 33 shots.
 
Shane Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) added his fourth goal of the season; Anthony Wyse (Newton, Mass.) and Cameron Marks (North Vancouver, British Columbia) chipped in with one assist apiece.

The Wildcats return to Whittemore Center ice Friday, Jan. 27 for a 7 p.m. game against Providence College. The 'Cats and Friars also go head-to-head in Durham on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. for Family Hockey Day and Shirt Off Your Back Night. HOW IT HAPPENED
•Northeastern seized a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal from Adam Gaudette at 6:56 of the first. Dylan Sikura sent in a shot from the right point that bounced off the left shoulder of Danny Tirone. Gaudette picked up the rebound and drove it home inside the near post for his 11th goal. Zach Aston-Reese and Sikura assisted.
 
•UNH leveled the score, 1-1, courtesy of Nazarian's goal at 10:49 of the first. Seconds after a Wildcat power play elapsed, Wyse kept the puck in along the left wing boards. The freshman defenseman played one onto Nazarian's stick in the slow slot, and the sophomore backhanded home his second goal of the season.
 
•At 9:18 of the second period, New Hampshire seized its first lead of the contest, 2-1, when Eiserman scooped up a loose puck in a crowd and beat Ruck for his fourth goal of the season. Marks tallied his sixth assist, and Nazarian notched his second point of the night and fifth assist of the year.
