Jordan Tallies Career-First Double-Double, Men’s Hoops Drops Maine, 88-75

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Ronnel Jordan (San Antonio, Texas) records his first career double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds to give the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team an 88-75 win over America East rival University of Maine, Monday night at Lundholm Gymnasium.
UNH improves to 14-9 overall and 7-3 in the America East with its sixth win in the last seven games. Maine dropped to 8-16 overall and 4-7 in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats jumped out to a seven-point lead (9-2) with 16:07 to go in the first, as Leissner, Jordan, Smith and sophomore Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) all scored in the run. The Wildcats stretched the lead to 10, its largest in the half, at the 13:09 mark following a Smith finish, Dion jumper and a Leissner lay-in.
Maine stormed back to tie it, 26-26, with a 15-6 run capped off by Lawton layup in the paint with 5:57 to go. No team led by more than five points until Jordan's 3-pointer with 1:45 remaining in the half pushed the lead to six.
Following a six-point lead at the break, 43-37, Maine whittled the deficit to one, 55-54 with 12:50 left in the contest. The Black Bears scored seven straight points in 1:19 to reduce the wildcat lead.
The Wildcats upped its offensive pressure in the final 10 minutes to increase the score to 70-61 with 6:29 to go, and secure the Maine season sweep.
