DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's swimming and diving team defeated the University of Rhode Island, 173-122, Saturday afternoon in a dual meet at Swasey Pool.

Junior Liza Baykova (Moscow, Russia) earned four top-podium finishes on the day, three of which were individual. She shattered her own pool record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of one minute, 48.11 seconds, two seconds faster than her previous time. That mark ranks her 19^th in the nation in the event. She also took gold in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.90 seconds and in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 50.74 seconds. She and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Sarah Broderick (Haverhill, Mass.), Kaitlin Cahill (Troy, N.Y.) and Corinne Carbone (Medway, Mass.) blazed through the water to take the top spot with a collective time of 1:38.85.

New Hampshire returns to the pool on Friday, Nov. 18 for day one of the three-day Terrier Invitational at Boston University. The invitational is the last event of the 2016 part of the schedule for UNH.
