Nick Hunter joined the UNH football coaching staff as a nickels coach in February 2026.
He joined the Delaware coaching staff in February 2022 as an defensive analyst. He was promoted to senior defensive analyst prior to the 2024 season. During the 2022 season, Hunter worked with the defensive line before moving to the safeties ahead of the 2023 campaign. Prior to the 2025 season, Hunter worked with the linebackers.

During Hunter's time in Delaware, he produced four all-conference players -- S Ty Davis, DL Artis Hemmingway, DL Chase McGowan, and S KT Seay.
Hunter went to Newark after spendin two seasons as a graduate assistant at Austin Peay, where he worked with the defensive line. He was the defensive signal caller for a Governors’ defense that led the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) in scoring defense (24.9 ppg) and ranked second in sacks (18), while boasting OVC Defensive Player of the Year in Koby Perry.
Prior to Austin Peay, Hunter spent the 2020 spring on the staff at his alma mater Christopher Newport, where he served as the safeties coach. A wide receiver at Christopher Newport, he caught 33 passes for 428 yards and completed all six of his pass attempts for four touchdowns during his career.
A Yorktown, Virginia native, Hunter graduated from CNU with a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a focus in cellular molecular and physiology in 2020.
