Jaysen Thompson

Assistant Coach, DL and Recruiting Coordinator

Jaysen Thompson joined the UNH football program as the defensive line coach in February 2025.

Thompson was previously an assistant defensive line coach at West Virginia University for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In 2023, WVU capped a 9-4 season with a win in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl to finish ranked No. 25 in the final coaches poll, and the team led the Big XII in sacks. The Mountaineers played in the Frisco Bowl in ’24.

Thompson was the inside linebackers coach at his alma mater, American International College, in 2022.

Thompson was a three-time All-Conference player and was named to the conference Academic Honor Roll four times at AIC. He ranks second in school history for career tackles and served as a team captain from 2018-21.

Thompson graduated from American International with two degrees: Bachelor of Science in Sports Management in 2020 and a Master of Business Administration in 2021.

He earned a second master’s degree in Sport Management from West Virginia.
