Alysa Wright Sargent joined the UNH volleyball team as an assistant coach in July 2024 and she played a key role in coaching the team to the 2024 America East championship and its first NCAA tournament bid since 2016.
Wright Sargent’s volleyball career is marked by numerous accolades and achievements. She earned First Team All-Conference honors at UNH in 2023 and Bryant in 2022, and was named to the Second Team All-Conference NEC in 2021.
Her earlier career highlights include being a 2x PA State Championship runner-up, 3x district champion, and 3x league champion.
Wright Sargent holds both an MBA and a B.S. in Health Science, highlighting her dedication to education and personal development. Alysa's journey in higher education began at Bryant University, where she graduated magna cum laude and made the Student-Athlete Honor Roll.
The Pennsylvania native is supported by her parents, Nicholas and Gail Wright, and her siblings, Natalie (20) and Liana (17). She lives in Durham with her husband Sam Sargent.
Outside of volleyball, Alysa Wright Sargent enjoys competitive pickleball and admires Simon Biles. She spent her early years in Bermuda and has a fondness for the Bible, Wonder Woman, and The Office. In her free time, she is active in her church and enjoys walking her cat.
