Brian Foster is currently in his third season as the goaltender coach in the 2019-20 season. Foster was a four-year letter winner for the Wildcats spanning the 2007-10 seasons and was an All-American in 2010.
Foster was just recently inducted to the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame in October of 2018.
Foster is sixth all-time in program history in saves (2,387), and seventh in games played (86), save percentage (.910) and goal against average (2.82).
Foster also holds the program’s fourth-best single-season saves mark with 1,128 saves in the 2009-10 season. He started 38 of 39 games as a senior that season and went 17-14-7 with a 2.98 GAA and .908 save percentage. Foster’s numbers were better in Hockey East league action, where he went 14-6-6 with a 2.75 GAA and .913 save percentage.
The native of Pembroke, N.H. started 35 of 38 games as a junior and recorded single-season bests in wins (19) and GAA (2.68). In seven games (four starts) as a freshman, Foster had a 2.21 GAA and .933 save percentage.
Foster finished his Wildcat career with a 40-29-13 record, 2.82 GAA, .910 save percentage and five shutouts.
Foster was selected by the Florida Panthers in the fifth round (161st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Panthers on Feb. 4, 2012. Foster also played professionally for the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL), Lillehamer IK (Norwegian GET-ligaen), Esbjerg Energy (Danish League), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) and Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).
