Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Eva DeChent and Kyle Chauvette

DURHAM, N.H. —Junior Eva DeChent (Westchester, N.Y.) of the UNH women's basketball team and senior Kyle Chauvette (Goffstown, N.H.) of the UNH men's ice hockey team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on March 2.
In two games last week, Eva averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.0 assists in 36.9 minutes per game to lead UNH to victory against Binghamton University and UAlbany, securing the No. 7 seed in the upcoming conference tourney.
Eva made two free throws with eight seconds remaining to cement the Wildcat win 45-42 in the regular-season finale vs. UAlbany. She finished the game with a team-high 14 points, as well as six rebounds and three steals
Eva's 23 points from led New Hampshire to a dominant 67-48 win over Binghamton, where she scored 15 points after halftime and contributed to the Wildcats outscoring the visitors 36-19 in the second half. She finished 8-for-13 from the floor and 6 of 7 at the line with six assists and four steals.
UNH women's basketball is back in action March 5 (6pm), when the Wildcats will take on Maine in the quarterfinals to kick off the 2026 Air Force Reserve America East Women's Basketball Playoffs. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.
Kyle was outstanding in net with a .949 save percentage and a 1.54 GAA, as he made 56 saves and allowed three goals in a two-game series split with Providence, the No. 6-ranked team in the country.
Recording his fifth shutout of the season on Friday, Kyle aided the Wildcats in the 1-0 win on the road with 23 saves. The five shutouts are tied for first in the nation.
Providence is tied for first in the conference with 113 goals and entered the series averaging 3.55 goals per game, but Kyle allowed them to score only three goals combined in two games.
UNH men's ice hockey travels to UConn on March 5, when they will battle against the Huskies at 7pm. The Wildcats conclude the regular season March 7 (7pm) against UMass on Senior Night and Fan Appreciation Night. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.
