Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Hedda Martelleur and Jayden Buckrell

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden.) and sophomore Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario) of the UNH skiing team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Feb. 17.
Hedda had an impressive performance at the Williams Carnival by finishing in second place in the women's slalom on Saturday, Feb 14 with a time of 1 minute, 37 seconds. She also posted a podium finish the day before on Friday, Feb 13, finishing third in the women's giant slalom with a time of 1:35.
Hedda has placed in the Top 10 a total of seven times this season with a breakdown of four in slalom and three in giant slalom. Included in those Top 10 are four Top 5 finishes with three in slalom and one in giant slalom.
Jayden had a strong outing at the Williams Carnival by finishing third in the giant slalom with a time of 1:32. He also had a fifth-place finish in the men's slalom with a time of 1:36. In the EISA season, Jayden has five podium finishes, which means first, second or third place. He has placed in the Top 10 in all 10 races with seven Top 5 efforts.
The UNH ski team continues the 2026 season at the EISA Championships on Friday, Feb 20. The Nordic team competes in the classic 7.5k race at Rikert Outdoor Center in Ripton, Vt., while the alpine team competes in the slalom at the Snow Bowl in Hancock, Vt. The EISA Championships conclude Feb. 21.
