Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Nina Rossi and Morgan Winters

DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman Nina Rossi (Pittsgrove, N.J.) of the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team and senior Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) of the UNH men's hockey team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Jan. 5.
Nina recorded a goal and assist in both games of the two-game series against LIU at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex on Jan. 3-4 to help the Wildcats sweep the Sharks. On Saturday, the freshman forward recorded points 36 seconds apart with an assist at 3:05 and goal at 3:41 to extend UNH's lead to 3-0 in the third period on the way to a 4-0 win. Then on Sunday, Nina scored the game-winning goal when she gave the 'Cats a 2-0 lead at 5:10 of the second period, and then she tallied an assist on the goal that extended the advantage to 3-1 at 10:28 as UNH won the game 6-1.

Morgan posted two goals and two assists for four points to extend his point streak to four games as the Wildcats went 1-1-0 versus Colgate University at the Whitt on Jan. 3-4. The forward captain scored one goal in the 3-2 loss Jan. 3, then recorded one goal and two assists for three points Jan. 4 in the 3-2 win. Morgan tied his career high for points as this was the fourth time he finished a game with three points, and he now has 10 career multiple-point games. He set up the first goal of the game at 7:27 of the first period and scored the goal that gave the Wildcats a 2-1 lead at 14:06 of the second period that they would not relinquish. Morgan also set up the goal that extended the advantage to 3-1 at 1:20 of the final frame.
