Ring and LeClerc each scored for the Wildcats
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior forward Nick Ring (Hingham, Mass.) and senior alternate captain Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.) each scored for the Wildcats, but the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 14 Boston College, 5-2, on Friday night at Conte Forum in Hockey East action.
The Wildcats fall to 11-11-0 (5-7-0 Hockey East), while the Eagles improve to 12-8-1 (8-5-0 Hockey East).
Senior goalie Kyle Chauvette (Goffstown, N.H.) made x saves for the Wildcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead at 1:39 of the first period when Andre Gasseau sent a wrist shot from above the slot to the upper glove side of the net.
- But just 1:17 later at 2:56 and with the Wildcats on the power play, Ring tied the contest when senior captain Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) passed the puck through the crease as Ring scored on a one-timer. LeClerc also posted an assist.
- BC moved back out to a one-goal advantage at 5:54 when Dean Letourneau blasted a one-timer to the back of the net from the slot while on the power play.
- LeClerc tied the game at 2-2 at 4:36 of the second period when he fired a rebound off a shot by freshman defenseman Alex Carr (Sackville, Nova Scotia) to the back of the net.
- The Eagles went up 3-2 at 8:55 when Jake Sondreal knocked in the puck off a pass from Letourneau.
- BC extended the lead to 4-2 at 2:30 of the third period when James Hagens stole the puck in the neutral zone and skated into the UNH zone scoring stick side.
- The Eagles clinched the win with an empty net goal by Letourneau at 18:37.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- BC outshot UNH, 32-25.
- Each team went 1-3 on the power play.
- Chauvette tallied 27 saves, while Louka Cloutier made 23 saves for the Eagles.
