DURHAM, N.H. –Freshman Sarah Moore (Lisbon, Maine) and junior Yoofi Abaka-Amuah (Worcester, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire track and field teams were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on April 21.
Sarah had a record-breaking past week at the George Davis Invitational, which was held at Umass Lowell. She set a school record in the long jump with a leap of 6.29 meters (20' 7.75") to win the event at the George Davis Invitational. She broke the school record of 18' 9.75" by well over a foot set by Olivia Chamberlain in 2024. Also, her jump of 6.30 meters (20' 8"), which was not wind legal for the school record, ranked first in the conference and tied for 32nd in the nation. She is also tied for fifth in the country for the long jump by freshmen.
Sarah was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that broke the school record with a time of 46.85 seconds to secure place first. Moore was alongside freshman Mariam Nada (Portsmouth, N.H.), freshman Eva Roberts (Derry, N.H.), and sophomore Audrey Thornton (Freedom, N.H.). The previous record was 47.22 set in 2015.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, April 26, when they travel to UMass for the Pre Conference Invitational.

Yoofi placed fourth in the shot put with a personal-best 17.73 meters on April 18. His throw is the best in America East this season. This feat was accomplished at the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virgina, where he found himself competing against athletes from the ACC, SEC and Big Ten.
On April 19, he earned a sixth-place finish in the discus with a personal-best throw of 52.00 meters which is the second best in America East this season. On the same day he completed his personal best in the shot put he added a 17th-place finish in the hammer throw (55.09m).
