Men’s Hockey Ranked #20 in USA Hockey National Poll

Wildcats have won five straight games
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team has earned a spot in the national rankings, tied for No. 20 in the latest USA Hockey Poll. This marks the first time this season the Wildcats have been ranked.
The Wildcats (10-7, 5-4-0 Hockey East) have won five consecutive games and boast a 5-3-0 record against nationally ranked opponents. Most recently, UNH defeated previously unbeaten No. 7 Dartmouth, 3-2 in overtime on Dec. 14. The Big Green entered the contest with a perfect 11-0-0 record and were the last remaining undefeated team in the nation.
Earlier this month, the Wildcats swept a two-game series at No. 11 Maine on Dec. 5-6, as the last time UNH swept a two-game series versus the Black Bears at Alfond Arena was Feb. 8-9, 2008. UNH also opened the season with a 4-3 victory at No. 2 Michigan State.
The last time UNH appeared in the national rankings was Feb. 3, 2025, when the Wildcats were No. 19 in the USA Hockey Poll. Last season, UNH was ranked for six weeks and held a spot in the national polls for 20 consecutive weeks during the 2023-24 campaign.

Next up for the Wildcats will be a two-game home series versus Colgate on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 3-4 at the Whitt at 7 p.m. Saturday is Stem Night presented by SubCom and Sunday is Special Olympics Night presented by Fidium Fiber Internet.
