Brendan Fitzgerald Named Hockey East Defender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire junior defenseman Brendan Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.) was named the Army ROTC Hockey East Defender of the Week. This is Fitzgerald's first career Hockey East weekly honor.

Fitzgerald posted two assists for two points and was a member of a defense that allowed no goals as UNH won at Bentley, 3-0, on Nov. 29. He recorded an assist on each of the first two goals and was plus-1 on the day. This was his second career multi-point game. Fitzgerald is on a three-game point streak with four assists over the last three games. He leads the team this season with a career-best eight assists.

Next up for the Wildcats is a two-game Border Battle series at Maine (Dec. 5-6) presented by Buffalo Wild Wings. UNH will then return to the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex on Sunday, Dec. 14 versus Granite State rival Dartmouth at 4 p.m. as fans can Skate with the 'Cats after the game.
