DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Addison Spitz (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) of the UNH women's hockey team and senior Elias Khodri (Lyon, France) of the UNH men's soccer team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Nov. 5.
Addison was a force in the Wildcats' weekend sweep of Merrimack by posting her first career points with a two-goal outing in the team's 8-2 win over the Warriors on Friday (Oct. 31), before posting a career-high three-point game with a goal and two assists in the UNH's 5-2 win on Saturday (Nov. 1). She was named Hockey East Player of the Week following that five-point weekend.
The Wildcats remain home on Friday, Nov. 7, as they host Providence College with a 6pm puck drop at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. CLICK HERE to buy tickets online or call (603) 862-4000.
Elias was crucial in the Wildcats' road win against UMass Lowell on Friday, Oct. 31; he scored both goals in the 2-1 victory. He gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead early in the first half when he volleyed a one-timer from six yards out to the back of net. Then in the 18th minute he fired a shot to the lower right corner on a penalty kick. He was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
The Wildcats will be the No. 4 seed in the America East Championship and play No. 5 seed UMBC at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 3pm. Ticket prices are $14 for adults and $8 for youth. The first 100 UNH undergrad students get in free, while tickets will be $4 for UNH and college students thereafter with a valid student ID at the window on game day.
