Service Credit Union Student- Athletes of the Week: Audrey Mahoney and Nick Reed

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) of the UNH women's swimming and diving team and sophomore Nick Reed (Harrison N.Y.) of the UNH football team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Nov. 25.

Audrey broke three pool records this past weekend at the Tootell Aquatic Center pool at the University of Rhode Island. The first record she broke was in the 50-yard freestyle this past Friday. The record was held for nearly 37 years by former U.S. Olympian Jenny Thompson. Audrey won the 50 free in 22.98 seconds, shattering the previous pool record of 23.13 set by Thompson, a Dover, N.H. native, on March 11, 1989.

She set another pool record on Sunday by winning the 100-yard freestyle in 50.01 seconds, breaking the previous Tootell Aquatic Center record of 50.27 that was also set by Thompson on March 12, 1989.

Audrey was also a part of a historic team win in the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet included Caitlin Mason, Emily Loren Wright, and Grace Mahon. They combined for a time of 3:44.64, breaking both the pool and meet records of 3:49.77 previously set in 2024.

The Wildcats visit Northeastern for a dual meet Saturday, Dec. 6, starting at 12pm. The meet will be streamed live from the Barietta Natatorium on FloSwimming

Audrey Mahoney 50-free Swasey Pool Record

Nick was perfect in UNH's 33-27 victory against the University of Maine on Nov. 22 as he made four field goals, including a school-record 55-yarder, and one PAT to help the Wildcats retain the Brice-Cowell Musket by winning the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle

Nick also was named the CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 24. It is the third time this season he has received this accolade. He was previously honored Oct. 20 and Sept. 8

The 22nd-ranked University of New Hamshire Wildcats earned an at-large bid to the 2025-26 FCS Championship and will play at No. 14 seed South Dakota State University in a Nov. 29 (1pm Eastern) first round game on ESPN+.
