Ryan Philbrick Named Hockey East Defender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire freshman defenseman Ryan Philbrick (Concord, N.H.) was named the Army ROTC Hockey East Defender of the Week. This is Philbrick's first career Hockey East weekly honor.

Philbrick scored the game-winning goal and added an assist for two points on Friday in the 6-3 win at RPI. He also led the Wildcats with five blocks for the week with three at RPI and two at Union.

Philbrick is tied for second on the team this season with four goals and is tied for third with six points. He leads the team and is fifth in Hockey East with 22 blocks, while he also leads the team with two game-winning goals.

The Wildcats will be back at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex versus No. 10 UConn on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. for the annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by East Coast Lumber. UNH will then play at UConn on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
