Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Ruth White and Zachary Hooper

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Ruth White (Orono, Maine) and senior Zachary Hooper (Concord, N.H.) of the UNH cross country teams were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Oct. 6.

Ruth registered her third win in as many races on Friday Oct. 3 in the women's 6K Brown Race at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. The race featured 340 student-athletes and white paced the field with the winning time of 20 minutes, 29.4 seconds. This time was 12.1 seconds ahead of the runner-up. The Wildcats totaled 307 points to finish eighth in a race consisting of 39 teams.

Zachary was the top performing men's Wildcat for the third consecutive race. He finished in 39th place with a time of 25;26.40 at Friday afternoon's Paul Short Run Brown 8K Race he totaled 38 points individually. With 39 teams competing, UNH scored 450 points for 14th place in the men's division.

The Wildcats will race again in the 2025 New England Cross Country Championships at the Hopkinton fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H., on Friday, Oct. 10. The women's 5K championship is slated for 2pm, followed by the men's 8K championship at 2:45pm.
