Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Kylie Gorgenyi and Jaxson Baker

DURHAM, N.H. -- Grad student Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team and grad student Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) of the UNH men's basketball team have been named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on March 18.

Kylie Gorgenyi was outstanding in the final home meet of her career to propel UNH to a quad-meet victory against Temple, Brown and Bridgeport on March 17. Kylie recorded first-place finishes on three individual events – vault, uneven bars and floor exercise – as well as the all-around.

In her last event, Kylie recorded a career-high 9.950 as the anchor of UNH's floor rotation to tie the fourth-highest score in program history. She opened the meet with a winning judgment of 9.875 on vault and continued with a top score of 9.900 on the bars.

Kylie finished with an all-around score of 39.400 to top the podium.

UNH returns to action at the EAGL Championships at Towson University on March 23 (4 p.m.).

Jaxson Baker recorded his sixth double-double of the season in the America East semifinal game at top-seeded University of Vermont with a team-high 21 points and 11 rebounds. Jaxson shot 50 percent from the floor by making 7 of 14 field goal attempts, and that included 4-for-9 from 3-point range. He also made three foul shots.

Jaxson was also credited with a steal and a block in that game against UVM.

UNH finished the season with a 16-15 overall record.
