‘Cats Downed By UMBC, 86-68

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) led the Wildcats with 25 points as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to UMBC 86-68 on Saturday afternoon from Lundholm Gym.
Grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored 16 points for the Wildcats.
UMBC improves to 10-19 (5-9 AE) as the Wildcats fall to 15-11 (7-6 AE).

FIRST HALF:
· Daniels opened the scoring with a dunk. UMBC followed that up with an 11-3 run to take an 11-5 lead with 15:35 remaining in the half.
· The UMBC offense persisted to take a 26-13 lead with 8:40 left in the first half.
· The Retrievers continued scoring with 13 unanswered points only to be broken by a 3-pointer from Daniels.
· UMBC had the edge in the first half, with a 48-24 lead.
SECOND HALF:
· UMBC came out of halftime with a 9-0 run and held the Wildcats for nearly five minutes increasing the Retriever lead, 57-24.
· The Wildcats then scored on six consecutive possessions and stopped UMBC on three of theirs to cut the lead to 20, 69-49 with 7:48 remaining.
· UNH held the score within 20 for the remainder of the game but UMBC was victorious, 86-68.
