Cross Country and Track & Field Names 2024-25 Captains

DURHAM, N.H. - Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Anna Magle Haberek named the 2024-25 teams captains on Wednesday.Â

The cross-country captains are senior Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and junior Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine).
"We have had a strong start to our season, and I believe we can be very competitive in the rest of it if we continue to work together to get the most out of our training in the weeks ahead," Ronan said.Â
The women's cross-country team has already tallied two major wins this season at the Paul Short Invitational (103 points) and the New England Championships (70 points).Â
Finn expressed that "this team [men's cross country] is going to have success because of its mental toughness."
The Track and Field captains are senior sprinter/jumper Autumn Agri (Stratham, N.H.), senior multi-event Teagan O'Brien (Pawcatuck, Conn.), senior thrower Max Rome (North Kingstown, R.I.), and graduate student sprinter/jumper Andrew Kelly (Portsmouth, N.H.).
"We have a team of strong, dedicated women and with the addition of new talent," Agri said. "I am excited to see how we work together this upcoming season!"
O'Brien is excitement for the season stems from, "the passionate and experienced team with the addition of the dedicated and hardworking freshmen, making this season one to watch."
Kelly is looking forward to the season and has his expectations set to improve, "This year, the men's team has a good balance of consistent scorers and underclassmen with a lot of potential. Everyone's bought in and we are looking to improve on our 4th-place finish from last Spring."
"Our throws group has been working hard all preseason, and collectively we can't wait to push the mark in upcoming competitions," Rome said.

The men's and women's cross-country team returns to action on Friday, Oct. 25 for the CCSU Mini-Meet.
