DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) of the University of New Hampshire swimming & diving team and sophomore Isac Hedström (Are, Sweden) of the UNH ski team have been named the Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 23.
Audrey swept the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races and, with the meet tied entering the final event, swam the opening leg of the pool record-setting and winning 200 free relay team to lead UNH to a 152-147 victory against UConn on Senior Day (Jan. 20) at Swasey Pool.
In her first event of the day, Audrey placed first in the 50 free with a time of 23.81 seconds. She was also the fastest swimmer in the 100 free as she touched the wall in 52.43 seconds.
In the 200 free relay, Audrey set the pace with a split of 23.75 to give UNH an early lead. The Wildcats finished with a winning time of 1 minute, 35.35 seconds to break their previous Swasey Pool benchmark of 1:35.47 established last October vs. Central Connecticut State.
The UNH swimming & diving team concludes its dual meet season Jan. 26 at the University of Maine. The 2024 America East championships are Feb. 14-17 at VMI (Lexington, Va.).

Isac won the slalom and raced to 15th place in the giant slalom at the Colby Carnival on Jan. 19-20. He recorded the fastest time of 50.37 seconds in Run 1 of Saturday's slalom on Sugarloaf Mountain and completed Run 2 in 50.85 for an aggregate time of 1 minute, 41.22 seconds, which edged the runner-up by .02 seconds, for his first collegiate victory.
That first-place finish earned 50 points to lead UNH to a carnival-best 121 points in the men's slalom.
In the first EISA alpine race of the season, Isac was the Wildcats' top finisher in 15th place with a two-run time of 1:44.84 in the giant slalom.
The UNH alpine skiers return to action Jan. 26-27 at the Vermont Carnival (Stowe Mountain); the Nordic skiers raced at the UVM Carnival earlier this month.
