DURHAM, N.H. – Howie Bean '78 was recognized as the UNH Athletics Donor of the Game during the Granite Bowl against Dartmouth College on Sept. 16 at Wildcat Stadium. During the on-field event, Bean was accompanied by All-American Jasmine Lyons '24, Head Coach Cory Schwartz '82, and Athletic Director Allison Rich.
Bean graduated from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics (formerly known as WSBE). He competed on the UNH Nordic Ski team, earning All-American Honors in 1977. Following his UNH career, Howie won a national championship skiing for the U.S. National Team.
Bean has been a loyal wildcat supporter for 36 years, donating to UNH in a number of areas. Most recently, he has supported two different UNH Ski endowments and this past spring, Howie initiated a ski team area challenge during The (603) Challenge, UNH's annual fundraising event.
"The UNH Skiing program provided me the opportunity to earn an education and compete in a sport I love," Bean said. "I have been fortunate to meet many Wildcat skiers over the years and become part of a dedicated community. I give back each year to support the academic and athletic aspirations of our UNH Skiing family.
UNH Athletics is grateful for Howie's loyal generosity, as well as support from all Wildcats. Your support, no matter the amount, has a tremendous impact on UNH student-athletes and their ability to achieve their athletic and academic goals.
