Service Credit Union Student-Athletes Of The Week: Jamy Lum and Scott Schulz

DURHAM, N.H. -- Senior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) of the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team and senior Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) of the UNH ski team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Feb. 27.

Jamy Lum led the way for the UNH swimming and diving team to win a fourth straight America East championship; the four-day event was held Feb. 22-25 at the WPI Sports and Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass. The senior captain won her eighth career individual championship in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes, 15.95 seconds to earn 20 points for the 'Cats on the final day of competition. One day earlier, Jamy captured gold in the 100 breaststroke by touching the wall in 1:01.92 and she went on two swim a leg in the winning 400 medley relay.

At the conclusion of the meet, Jamy was presented the Dave Alexander Coaches Award, which is given annually to the senior who earned the most career conference championship points. Through her college career, Jamy won eight individual titles, eight relay titles and earned All-America East honors 19 times.

Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) aided the UNH ski team to fourth place after Friday's competition at the NCAA East Regional/EISA Championships by putting up 35 points with a seventh-place finish in the men's 10k skate (25 minutes, 30.8 seconds) at Mount Van Hoevenberg. On Saturday in the men's Nordic 20k classic, Scott earned sixth place with a finishing time of 55:10.8; he was the top UNH men's Nordic skier in both events. The 'Cats finished in fourth place after the two day competition.

New Hampshire returns to action March 8-11 at the NCAA Championships, which will be held at the sites of the NCAA Regional/EISA Championships competitions: Whiteface Mountain and Mount Van Hoevenberg.
