Service Credit Union Student-Athletes Of The Week: Mackenzie MacEachern & Bri an Genet

DURHAM, N.H. -- Sophomore Mackenzie MacEachern (Bedford, N.H.) of the lacrosse team and senior Brian Genet (Merrimack, N.H.) of the men's track and field team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on March 9.
Mackenzie recorded four goals and four assists for a total of eight points to lead UNH to a pair of road wins last week. Her other stats included seven shots (six on goal), five ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Mackenzie averaged 2.0 gpg, 2.0 apg, 4.0 ppg, 3.5 shots/game, 2.5 GB/game, 2.5 DC/game and 1.5 CTO/game.
In the 20-4 win at CCSU (March 5), she recorded career highs in goals (three), assists (four) and points (seven), as well as draw controls (five); she also matched her personal best of two caused turnovers and had two ground balls. Mackenzie helped set the tone by factoring in three consecutive goals to push UNH's lead to 6-0 early in the second quarter. She scored at 2:20 of the first, set up a goal with 42 seconds left in the first and then scored again at 13:47 of the second; those three goals were scored in a span of 3 minutes, 33 seconds.
Mackenzie tallied a goal, three ground balls and one caused turnover in the 13-10 win at Boston U. (March 2); her goal capped a game-ending 4-0 run that gave the Wildcats a 13-10 lead with 3:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats return to action March 12 (1 p.m.) at home vs. Columbia University.
Brian placed fourth in the heptathlon with 4,590 points when the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competed at the 100th IC4A Indoor Championships at Boston University on March 4-6.
Genet tallied his most points in the 60-meter dash with 782, the high jump with 653, and the long jump with 760.
He placed second in both the 60m and long jump, as well as third in the high jump.

The Wildcats will return to action when they start the outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays from March 24-26.
