Wildcats to take on #13 UMass Lowell on Feb. 13 at the Whitt

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Gabe Carriere made 23 saves for the Catamounts as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Vermont on Friday evening, 3-0 at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

The Wildcats fall to 12-14-1 (6-11-1 HE), while the Catamounts improve to 6-18-2 (4-10-2 HE).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

At 13:27 of the second period, Isak Walther tipped the puck to the back of the net on a shot by Joe Leahy on the power play to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead over the Wildcats.
Just 25 seconds later at 13:52, Carter Long extended the UVM lead with a goal from the blue line that went glove side.
The Catamounts clinched the win with an empty net goal by Will Zapernick at 19:39 of the third period.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

UVM outshot UNH by a 29-23 margin.
Senior goaltender Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) made 26 saves, while Gabe Carriere posted 23.
The Wildcats went 0-2 on the power play, while the Catamounts went 1-3.
