DURHAM, N.H. – Senior captain Chase Stevenson (West Kelowna, British Columbia) scored twice including the overtime game winner as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team defeated Arizona State in overtime, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon at the Whittemore Center.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-14-1, while the Sun Devils fall to 9-10-0.

Benji Eckerle scored on a breakaway at 2:28 when his shot from the slot went bar down to give ASU a 1-0 lead.
Then at 15:25, Demetrios Koumontzis scored a shorthanded goal to increase the lead to 2-0.
At 4:54 of the second period, junior forward Nick Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) scored on a breakaway above the blocker of T.J. Semptimphelter.

Then at 18:51, Stevenson sent the puck from the left circle over the right shoulder of Semptimphelter. Freshman defenseman Damien Carfagna (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) and sophomore defenseman Alex Gagne (Bedford, N.H.) each posted an assist on the goal.

Senior forward Ryan Black (Pomfret, Conn.) scored on a backhander, glove side at 2:15 of the third period to give the Wildcats the 3-2 lead. Freshman forward Jake Dunlap (Windham, N.H.) tallied an assist on the goal.

Then at 7:48, Lukas Sillinger tipped the puck from a shot from the point into the net to tie the game.
Freshman forward Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.) blasted a shot from the slot blocker side to take the 4-3 lead at 11:53 of the third period.

Then at 15:32, Matthew Kopperud shot the puck glove side from the circle for a power play goal.
Just 29 seconds after the opening faceoff of overtime, Stevenson scored off a shot from junior defenseman Luke Reid (Warman, Saskatchewan) glove side to win the game. Gagne also recorded an assist on the goal.

Freshman goalie Tyler Muszelik (Long Valley, N.J.) made 31 saves, while Semptimphelter tallied 25 saves for the Sun Devils.
