BOSTON – Justin Hryckowian scores three goals for the Huskies as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 16 Northeastern, 6-2, on Friday evening at Matthews Arena in Hockey East action.
The Wildcats fall to 3-5-1 (0-5-1 Hockey East), while the Huskies move to 5-2-2 (4-2-1 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At 10:34 of the first period, Jeremie Bucheler fired a one-timer from the top of the faceoff circle stick side to give Northeastern a 1-0 lead.
- Then at 15:06, Northeastern increased the lead to 2-0 when Hryckowian shot glove side right above the crease.
- At 1:54 of the second period, Hryckowian netted his second goal of the game shooting stick side in the circle.
- Freshman forward Jake Dunlap (Windham, N.H.) posted his first collegiate goal when he received a pass from sophomore defenseman Jack Babbage (Tully, N.Y.) from behind the net as Dunlap then shot right from the top of the crease glove side at 10:39 the second period to cut the Northeastern lead to 3-1. Sophomore forward Robert Cronin (Plymouth, Mass.) also posted an assist on the goal.
- 17:31 into the second period, Sam Colangelo scored stick side right on top of the crease to give the Huskies a 4-1 lead.
- On a power play, 0:27 into the third period, Aidan McDonough made the game 5-1 when he backhanded the puck into the net.
- At 8:32, Hryckowian scored his third goal of the game stick side on top of the crease.
- Then at 9:14 in the third period, senior forward Chase Stevenson (West Kelowna, British Columbia) netted a goal from a scramble in front of the net. Freshman forward Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.) and freshman forward Kristaps Skrastins (Grobina, Latvia) each recorded assists.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Freshman goalie Tyler Muszelik (Long Valley, N.J.) made six saves, while Devon Levi tallied 25 saves for the Huskies. Senior goalie David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) made 17 saves after being put into the game at the beginning of the second period.
- Northeastern outshot UNH, 29-27.
- The Wildcats went 0-3 on the power play, while the Huskies went 1-2.
