DURHAM, N.H. – Marty '60 and Kathy '66 Hall were honored as UNH Athletics "Donors of the Game" during the Nov. 12 University of New Hampshire football game against the University of Rhode Island at Wildcat Stadium.
Marty, a 1960 UNH graduate of the College of Health and Human Services, and Kathy, a 1966 graduate of the College of Liberal Arts, are longtime UNH supporters and football season ticket holders. They have been giving back to UNH for nearly 40 years, directing their support to the UNH ski team.
In 2016, Marty and Kathy established the Linda K. Hall '62 Women's Alpine Fund to benefit UNH women's skiing. The endowment was named in memory of Marty's sister, Linda Hall, who was a UNH skier and field hockey player.
Marty also stayed quite active on campus as a three-sport athlete, himself, for the Wildcats. He played football during the fall, competed on the ski team in the winter, and ran track & field during the spring.
"I received a perfect sports education from UNH," Marty Hall said. "Competing as a student-athlete was important, but the academic education gave me the foundation to be an educator and coach in leading the U.S. National Nordic Ski team and Canadian National Nordic Ski Team in international competition."
Marty's post-UNH highlights include coaching in six Winter Olympic Games, nine World Championships, and 380 World Cups. He's revolutionized cross-country skiing while he and Kathy continue to be leaders in the UNH skiing community. Their passion for the sport led them to create the "Hall Mark of Excellence," a personal signature used to promote and support Nordic skiing.
UNH Athletics is grateful for the loyalty, commitment and unwavering support from Marty and Kathy Hall, as well as all supporters of the Wildcats. Your support, no matter the amount, has a tremendous impact on our student-athletes and their ability to achieve their athletic and academic goals.
