Damien Carfagna & Tyler Muszelik Earn Hockey East Weekly Honors

The Wildcats started the season 2-0-0.
AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire freshman defenseman Damien Carfagna (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) has been named the Hockey East Defender of the Week and freshman goaltender Tyler Muszelik (Long Valley, N.J.) has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week. Both Wildcats earned these honors after making their collegiate debuts.
UNH went 2-0-0 on the season-opening road trip with a 4-3 overtime win versus No. 17 Clarkson and a 4-1 triumph versus St. Lawrence.
The Wildcats return to action for the home opener at the Whittemore Center on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. versus Boston College on ESPN+. Go to UNHWildcats.com/Tickets or call the ticket office at (603) 862-4000 to catch the most exciting family entertainment in New Hampshire.
Carfagna tied for a team-best plus 3 on the week as he was a member of a defense that allowed only 2.0 goals per game. He scored his first collegiate goal in the win at St. Lawrence.
Muszelik was outstanding in his collegiate debut at St. Lawrence. He only allowed one goal as he made 31 saves for a .969 save percentage and a 1.00 goal against average.
