NEWARK, N.J. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team earned a pair America East victories on Monday afternoon at Fleisher Athletic Center on the campus of NJIT.
With the wins, the Wildcats improve to 5-3 overall, while Binghamton and UMBC fall to, 0-9 and 8-3, respectively.
In the late match, UNH swept UMBC, 3-0. The set scores were 25-17, 25-22 and 22-19.
Junior outside hitter Kate Bilyeu (Omaha, Neb.) led the UNH attack with a team-high 11 kills with a .212 hitting percentage and four digs. "Today we were committed to not only our game plan, but to each other," said UNH Head Coach Christopher Feliciano. "Our group has the potential to do great things with the understanding that sometimes you have to just go after it without fear or doubt."
Freshman libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) added 16 digs in another strong defensive effort for the Wildcats.
Anouk Van Noord totaled a match-high 14 kills in the losing effort for UMBC.
