DURHAM, N.H. – Max Kaufman scored the game-winning goal with 13.9 seconds remaining in overtime for Boston University as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to the Terriers 2-1, at Whittemore Center on Saturday evening.

The Wildcats fall to 7-9-1 (3-7-1 Hockey East), while the Terriers improve to 6-9-2 (5-5-2 Hockey East).

The Wildcats return to action when they compete at the Ledyard Classic at Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 30-31. UNH will take on Dartmouth at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and then either Boston College or Mercyhurst on Friday. The Wildcats return to the Whitt on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 7-8. HOW IT HAPPENED:

At 10:36 of the second period, Matt Brown scored for the Terriers on a two-man advantage power play goal. Brown lifted a wrist shot into the upper stick side of the net from the right face-off circle to take a 1-0 lead for BU.
The Wildcats tied the game 1-1 at 12:53 of the third period as freshman left wing Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) fired a one-timer into the lower stick side of the goal from the slot. Freshman defensemen Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) and senior defensemen Will MacKinnon (Plymouth, Mich.) both posted an assist on this goal.
Kaufman lifted a backhander into the stick side of the net with 13.9 seconds left in overtime, securing a 2-1 OT win for BU.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Senior goaltender Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) made 20 saves, while Drew Commesso posted 28.
UNH outshot BU by a 29-22 margin.
The Wildcats went 0-5 on the power play, while the Terriers went 1-6.
