Service Credit Union Student-Athletes Of The Week: Ava Boutilier & Jayden Martinez

DURHAM, N.H. -- Senior goalie and captain Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) of the women's ice hockey team and senior forward Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) of the men's basketball team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday, November, 29.

Boutilier had a total of 34 saves for a .919 save percentage in the Wildcats' 3-2 loss vs #10 Harvard on Nov. 23.Â
In their first matchup against Union on Nov. 26, Boutilier recorded 17 saves for her first shutout of the season and the 13th of her career. She was also credited with an assist, the third of her career, in UNH's 7-0 victory.Â
The following day she recorded 26 saves, including 10 in the second period, in the Wildcats' 4-1 victory over the Dutchwomen. Boutilier stopped 43 of 44 shots in the two-game series for a .978 save percentage.
Her total saves in the past week added up to be 77 of 81 making for an excellent .951 save percentage.Â
New Hampshire begins a four-game homestand at the Whittemore Center with a two-game series against the University of Vermont on Dec. 3-4.
Martinez scored a career-high 33 points and 14 rebounds to lead the UNH men's basketball team to an 84-69 victory against Quinnipiac on Nov. 23. Then he notched his fourth 20-point effort of the season to lead the Wildcats to a 70-55 road victory at Holy Cross on Saturday, Nov. 27.Â
Martinez was also named America East Player of the Week, which was announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Martinez notched 26.5 points per game, shot 77% from the field, and recorded 10.5 rebounds in the Wildcats' 2-0 week.Â
He leads the team with 20.2 points per game on the season, registering a 56.5% shooting percentage with 8.4 rebounds per contest, helping the Wildcats to a 3-2 record early on in the season. He leads America East in points per game and rebounding, while his 56.5% FG percentage ranks third among conference players.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Dec. 4 against Central Connecticut State. Game time from Lundholm Gymnasium is 4 p.m.
